DAMAGED is the first in The Unbelievable Story About My Truth series that chronicles the author's life from being Damaged as an innocent child by sexual, physical and mental abuse; then suffering the RIPPLES of consequences from the choices she made in an attempt to find her way after escaping, as well as the ripple effects on those she let, and brought, into her life; to being set FREE from the ravages of post-traumatic stress disorder through the truly divine processes of healing she was led to find. In Damaged, Lorina embarks upon a journey that goes back in time not easily forgotten; where she revisits the dark and horrifying memories of her experiences that no child should ever have to encounter. Stolen away from her mother as a toddler, she became a pawn in her father's life of broken marriages. She was tormented by a mentally ill, alcoholic step-mother whose son, in secret, violently tortured and sexually abused her for a decade. Trapped in a home where she was forced to perform despicable sex acts by her step-brother; receiving physical and mental abuse on a daily basis from her step-mother through the denial of food, water, even appropriate clothing while suffering punishments played out in cruel rituals; Lorina's life was a living hell. She constantly lived in fear and was brainwashed by those who were supposed to love and protect her into believing that she was worthless and would never be deserving of anyone's love. Lorina shares her experiences as honestly, and sometimes graphically, as possible to help those suffering as she did, to know that she has lived their pain, but also to help teachers, parents and others in the lives of children to watch for the signs that are present if you know what to look for. She wants you to remember that her story doesn't end here. Lorina's universal message is that It's Never Too Late to Tell and true healing can happen to even the most lost and wounded. Today she is no longer a victim but she needed her readers to take this first part of her life's journey with her to understand how she became so... Damaged.

About the Author
Reverand Lorina Pyle has dedicated the past seven years of her adult life to helping heal those in need, as a teacher, lecturer, spiritual counselor minister, assistant pastor, and now, author. In her search to heal herself from the lifelong crippling effects of PTSD caused by the sexual abuse she suffered for more than ten years as a child, she found and developed self-help healing methods that brought her out of decades she spent as a victim to that of a triumphant survivor. Lorina's motivation for becoming an author and telling her horrific yet moving story in three volumes is to share the message that, no matter how bad it is or was, no matter who the abuser is or was, it is never too late to tell. As a teacher, lecturer, spiritual counselor, minister, assistant pastor, and now, author, Lorina is dedicating her life to helping others like herself by reaching out to say "Have faith that you can survive and heal from the abuse because there are real methods of healing that truly work." Now teaching others like herself the healing methods she found as well as those she developed along her journey to recovery. Her mission is to bring childhood sexual abuse awareness to the forefront of today's society to stop the cycle of the devastating mental disorders and anxieties brought on by this unacceptable epidemic. She is working toward establishing and operating a non-profit foundation to act as a resource center for sufferers of childhood sexual abuse by providing resources for support, from one-on-one sharing with survivors of mutual experience to safe havens of healing in different parts of the country. She wants to develop educational materials for teachers, parents and caregivers to interpret the signs of sexual abuse, made available through the foundation. Lorina looks to battle individual state laws that decide a victim is no longer a victim because of a statute of limitation denying them justice when they are finally able to tell. She will help to find ways to provide safe havens for children telling of their circumstances of abuse so that they do not have to be returned to their environment and perpetrators. Your purchase of this and her continuing story in the following releases will support Lorina as she pursues her mission.
