Diana Gabaldon nació en Arizona, en cuya universidad se licenció en Biología Marina, doctorándose posteriormente en Zoología. Es la autora de las nueve novelas de «Outlander» (Forastera, Atrapada en el tiempo, Viajera, Tambores de otoño, La cruz ardiente, Viento y ceniza, Ecos del pasado, Escrito con la sangre de mi corazón y Cuenta a las abejas que me fui), una saga que ha vendido más de cincuenta millones de ejemplares en todo el mundo, se ha traducido a treinta y ocho idiomas, se ha convertido en una aclamada serie de televisión y ha sido publicada en español por Salamandra.
